My name is Hector Jardinel and in some ways I am proud to say that I am a descendant of one of the wealthiest families in Chile for our successful brewery business. My father became wealthy because he made something of himself, which is more than what I can possibly say for my extremely lazy elder brothers who take advantage of the old man?s generosity. My father loved me the most not because I?m the youngest among the three, but because I seriously wanted to create something bigger than myself. I wanted to enter filmmaking school and become a movie producer, just as he became a producer of luxury beverages all over South America. When I first found out about www.filmconnection.com, I told myself that I will have to pay twice the amount if they can?t wrap around the whole film production idea in my thick head in the first two months. The mentors taught me a lot of things I never really thought much in Oxford University. If not for my vow to prove myself to my father and to God, I would have voluntarily dropped out for the pressure it entails. I am accustomed to logistics and macro management manpower ? it was my whole life after college. However, I was never accustomed dealing with pompous movie actors. In the end though, I have developed enough charisma in them without using threats. After my apprenticeship I co-produced the drama film, First Gentleman and it garnered two Oscar Awards ? one deserving of my good friend, Film Connections colleague and brilliant director Claire Wong.
